Quick & Dirty Banana Smoothie

Do you find yourself opening the refrigerator, looking for something to eat, and then become convinced that there is nothing to eat?  Most people I know always have an overlooked staple in their home:  bananas!  This is a great thing!  And here's something else you might not know: the more leopardy the banana, the better!  It has been found that over-ripe bananas produce an anti-cancer substance that helps fight cancer cells.   Here's a recipe for a Quick & Dirty Banana Smoothie

  • -1 or 2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk or raw almond milk
  • -1 ripe banana
  • -1 tsp spirulina (optional)
  • -1 tsp probiotic powder (optional)
  • -1 scoop of raw vegan protein powder
  • -dash of vanilla
  • -2 large handfuls of spinach
  • -raw cacao powder to taste! (this makes it dirty!)

NOTE:  Please remember that although bananas gain a lot of nutritional qualities as they ripen, their simple sugar also increases.  If you are sugar sensitive, leopardy bananas may not be for you.  Just go non-leopard.
