This main topic of this episode starts at around 10 minutes in.

But first, we talk about Toast’s illiteracy when it comes to classic movies.

Siena is an avid appreciator of movies and TV shows.

So she’s been shocked over the years to hear Toast say “I never saw that one” about films like Grease, The Outsiders, Fatal Attraction, and many more.

In the past month, we began Siena’s Project To Educate Toast About Classic Movies.

One of the first films on the list was:

The Outsiders, the movie adaptation (1983) of the book by S.E. Hinton (1967).

The Outsiders helped launch the acting careers of: Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, and Diane Lane.

Toast shares her impressions upon finally seeing it in 2023, 40 years after it came out.

And then, finally, at around 10 minutes in, we start in on the main topic.

How Did You First Know You Were Gay?

For Toast’s portion, topics include:

  • a seven year-old’s awareness

  • “Jo” on The Facts of Life TV show

  • being ‘non-heterosexual’ was not on the menu

  • Princess Leia and the gold bikini

  • and more

For Siena’s portion, topics include:

  • growing up with aunts and uncles with ‘friends’ who were the same sex

  • no direct references to aunts or uncles being ‘gay’

  • ‘bisexuality’ was not on the menu

  • ‘being feminine while being lesbian’ was not on the menu

  • and more
