We had a first-time experience when we (well, Toast) chose OMSI After Dark as a date night.

Bonus: a surprising abundance of naturally occurring lesbians were there!

OMSI stands for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, and is one of Portland’s main tourist attractions.

It’s got a reputation as a great museum for kids.

Which is probably why, when they’re promoting their After Dark program to adults, they make sure to say: there are no kids in sight!

(No offense to kids, but it’s nice to be able to enjoy the museum without them sometimes. I’m sure kids feel the same about adults. See? If we can make allowances for everyone to be themselves – as long as human rights are not infringed upon – we can all get along in decency and peace.)

The OMSI After Dark program combines night life with science and learning.

Think a DJ, neon lights, appetizers, alcohol, science presentations, educational booths, shopping, and also experiments and science-based games.

Nerdy night out at the museum!

Why the preponderance of lesbians?

We don’t know, but we’re lesbos and we chose to go there for our “date night,” so whatever it is, it’s truly a natural phenomenon.

Keep in mind: this wasn’t even a pride event.

Interesting, right?
