172 Beyond Pronouns: Don’t Call Her My Wife

Do these look like two wives to you…? 🤨😆

Just because a lesbian couple is married does not mean they really want you to call them “wives.” We can’t totally explain it, we just know it’s true. 

In this episode, we have fun musing over the reasons for our mutual distaste for the term ‘wife.’

We also share some personal stories about other terms you could use, along with a funny, awkward anecdote from the era before such broad social awareness of the LGBTQ community, that exists now.

Protein Cookies by Siena
Vegan, Gluten-Free

Makes 24-26 cookies

  • 6 ripe bananas (4 large ripe)

  • 3 TBSP melted coconut oil

  • 16oz unsweetened almond butter

  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 1 cup gluten free oats (omit for a grain free cookie!)

  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup chopped raw walnuts

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

In a large bowl, add bananas and mash with fork or potato masher. Add melted coconut oil, almond butter and protein powder and mix. Add almond flour and oats and mix. Add salt and vanilla and mix well. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips.

Using a large cookie batter scooper, scoop batter and put on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten with hands. Batter will be sticky, don’t worry!

Bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes
