87 Be Kind

We recorded this episode on Sat. March 28, 2020, which marks 16 days of our self-quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Silly Phenomena from Self-Quarantine

“Be Kind,” a message to the world in chalk art, seen on a walk near our neighborhood.

Siena shares her sleep 🛌 issues (falling asleep and 😴 staying asleep) and Toast takes the blame! (Bear our cat also takes a little bit of blame.)

There’s also some talk for the cat 😸 aficionados. The voice of one of Bear’s toys named Wormy has emerged during the self-quarantine. And we also share how he acts more like a dog 🐶 in some ways.

And finally 🧻the Siena & Toast Toilet Paper Challenge: can you dispense the exact number of TP squares you want, in one tug of the roll?

A Few Serious Thoughts About The Pandemic

This feels like humanity’s mid-life crisis, or a coming-of-age traumatic event.

Humankind has used its recent powers of technology in wonderful but also very immature ways.

Just like religions, which attempt to soothe fears about death and mortality, we’ve looked to technology and the market to “save” us.

This pandemic is a message of truth about our reality: everyone dies, everyone is interdependent with everyone else, human and non-human alike.

The point of life, the rewards of life, and the challenges of life are all the same thing: Be Kind. Love one another.

For those who have ears to hear, let them hear.
